Basil Pesto Recipe


  • 5 Cups fresh basil leaves, packed
  • 3 TBSP chopped garlic (9 whole garlic cloves)
  • 1 1/2 Cups of good olive oil
  • 1/4 Cup walnuts
  • 1/4 Cup pignolis (pine nuts)
  • 1 Cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp freshly ground pepper


1. Using a food processor, blendĀ basil, garlic, and nuts together until they are thoroughly chopped

2. Add cheese, salt, pepper and continue to blend

3. Lastly, add Olive oil and blend for about 20 seconds or until smooth

4. Refrigerate pesto; if you are going to freeze pesto in containers, do not add cheese.
